La situación ya era desesperada. Nasrudin había sido mordido por un perro rabioso y los médicos no estaban seguros si se había empezado el tratamiento a tiempo, para salvarlo. Atribulados y después de una última consulta en la materia, ingresaron en la sala y le comunicaron la verdad: que podría desarrollar la hidrofobia y que sus posibilidades eran bastante malas. 

En lugar de parecer molesto por la noticia, Nasrudin pidió un lápiz y papel y comenzó a escribir largo y tendido. Después de hora y media de escritura constante, su enfermera le preguntó: 

—¿Qué escribes, Mullah? ¿Es tu voluntad o una carta a tu familia? 

—No, dijo Nasrudin, es la lista de personas que voy a morder.

The situation was already desperate. Nasrudin had been bitten by a rabid dog and the doctors were not sure if the treatment had been started on time, to save him. Troubled and after a final consultation in the matter, they entered the room and told him the truth: that he could develop hydrophobia and that his chances were pretty bad.

Instead of looking annoyed by the news, Nasrudin asked for a pencil and paper and began to write long and hard. After an hour and a half of constant writing, his nurse asked him:

– What are you writing, Mullah? Is it your will or a letter to your family?

-No, said Nasrudin, it’s the list of people I’m going to bite.
